The Lacquer Legion - Reinvention: Galaxy Nails - The Easy Way

So there is this new exciting thing going no the nail blogsphere... It's called The Lacquer Legion and it's basically a monthly nail art challenge with a little twist. It's not as intense as The 31 Day Challenge, but you're supposed to come up with a cool original idea that'll go with the monthly theme picked by the talented Sarah of Chalkboard Nails, Sammy The Nailasaurus, Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails, and Leslie from Work/Play/Polish.

I don't know if I'll be doing this each month, but I do like a good challenge every once in a while and I happened to have an idea for the first one so I went with it. The theme for the first Challenge is reinvention. Some of the girls actually invented new nailart techniques but I didn't go so far.

I remembered it's been a long time since I used one of my favorite colors: Essie - No More Film, and I wanted to pair it up with a pretty glitter. I spotted GlitterBunny - I Got a Goodie Bag and knew these two were meant to be. Applying Goodie Bag over a dark color is just like having a galaxy manicure, minus the hassle... It's filled with square neon glitters and tiny holographic scattered glitter, such a beautiful combo! I used one coat of Goodie Bag and one coat of Poshe top coat.

משהו מרגש קורה בבלוגספירת הלקים... קוראים לזה  The Lacquer Legion, ומדובר באתגר ציפורניים חודשי עם טוויסט קטן. הוא לא אינטנסיבי כמו אתגר 31 הימים, כי צריך ליצור רק עיצוב אחד בחודש, אבל האתגר הרציני כאן הוא לחשוב על עיצוב מקורי שיתאים לרעיון שבחרו הבנות המוכשרות מהבלוגים Chalkboard Nails, The Nailasaurus, Rebecca Likes Nails וWork/Play/Polish.

אני לא יודעת אם אני אשתתף בכל חודש, אבל אני בהחלט אוהבת אתגר טוב מדי פעם, והפעם היה לי רעיון אז החלטתי להצטרף. הנושא לאתגר הראשון היה reinvention (המצאה מחדש). יש בנות שממש המציאו טכניקות חדשות או שיכללו טכניקות קיימות, אבל אני לא הלכתי כל כך רחוק.

נזכרתי שעבר המון זמן מאז שהשתמשתי באחד הלקים האהובים עליי: No More Film של אסי, ורציתי לצרף לו גליטר יפה. ראיתי במגירה את  GlitterBunny - I Got a Goodie Bag וידעתי ששני אלה נועדו להיות יחד. כשמורחים את גודי בג מעל לק כהה, מתקבל מניקור גלקסייה מהמם, בלי כל העבודה... הלק מורכב מגליטרים מרובעים ניאוניים וחלקיקים הולוגרפיים קטנים, איזה שילוב יפה! מרחתי שכבה אחת מהגליטר והוספתי שכבה של המייבש האהוב עליי, פושה. 

I wanted to show you some swatches of No More Film 'cause I really really love it even without adding anything! This is 2 coats, no top. It dries super quickly and shiny. 

I also took a close up picture of the bottle so you'll see how perfect it is. For those of you who don't know GlitterBunny - it's an Israeli based vegan indie nail polish brand that ships worldwide.

רציתי לחלוק כמה תמונות של No More Film כי אני ממש אוהבת אותו, גם בלי שום תוספות. הוא מצולם כאן בשתי שכבות, ללא טופ. הוא מתייבש מהר מאוד, עם הרבה ברק. 

צילמתי גם תמונת קלוז אפ של הגליטר בבקבוק, שתראו כמה הוא מושלם. למי שעוד לא מכירה, GlitterBunny הוא מותג לקים טבעוני שמיוצר כאן בארץ ע"י בחורה מקסימה ויצירתית בשם ניקול. 

31 Day Challenge - Day 3: Yellow

I love yellow and I also think this color looks pretty nice againt my skintone but I absolutely hate the staining that comes with it so I desided to cheat a little bit :)

I am wearing 3-4 coats of Essie Waltz and the yellow glitter is from Glitter Bunny I Got A Goodie Bag. on my ring finger and my thumv I have a reverse glittergradient with the holo glitter GK734A.

This design is going to stay on me for the holiday (jewish new year) and I won't be here for a while. I'll have to make up for missing so many days of the challenge somehow...

אני אוהבת צהוב ואני גם חושבת שזה צבע שנראה די טוב עם גוון העור שלי, אבל אני שונאת את ההכתמה שהוא משאיר על הציפורניים אז החלטתי לרמות קצת באתגר היומי:)

אני עם 3-4 שכבות של  Essie Waltz והגליטר הצהוב הוא מGlitter Bunny I Got A Goodie Bag. על הקמיצה והאגודל עשיתי גרדיאנט הפוך עם הגליטר ההולוגרפי  GK734A.

העיצוב הזה הולך להישאר עליי במשך החג ואני גם לא אהיה פה כה ימים. אני אצטרך למצוא דרך יצירתית לפצות על כל הימים שפספסתי באתגר...

Part 2 of The WOW Trilogy

This time I went for the third color I got at WOW cosmetics, # 434, a dark blue with tiny blue & turquoise glitter

I applied 2 coats for full opacity, then added Glitter Bunny's - I Got A Goodie Bag. The consistency of this polish is quite thick so I didn't want to apply 2 coats of it, but I did wand to get as much glitter as I can, so this time I used a sponge to apply the glitter and the result was much better! 

I definitely think this glitter looks better with a dark base color, but it's summer time and I don't feel like wearing black nail polish that often, so I guess for now I'll keep wearing it over light colors...

On the third (and final) part of the trilogy I'll show you a stamping manicure that I did with 2 of the 3 polishes I got at WOW... 

הפעם הלכתי על הצבע השלישי שקניתי בוואו - מס' 434, כחול מושחר עם גליטרים פצפונים בצבע כחול וטורקיז. מרחתי 2 שכבות ומעליו הוספתי את הגליטר המהמם I Got A Goodie Bag  של ניקול מGlitter Bunny.

המרקם של הלק הזה יחסית סמיך אז לא רציתי למרוח 2 שכבות ממנו, אבל כן רציתי לכסות את הציפורן בכמה שיותר גליטר, אז החלטתי להניח אותו עם ספוג. ככה יכולתי לשלוט במיקום של הגליטרים, והספוג ספג את רוב הנוזל והשאיר שכבה יפה ולא עבה מדי על הציפורן שלי.

אני חושבת שהגליטר הזה נראה הכי טוב על לק בסיס כהה שמבליט את החלקיקים ההולוגרפיים, אבל בקיץ לא תמיד מתחשק לי להיות עם לקים כהים, אז נראה לי שבינתיים אני אמשיך להשתמש בו על לקים בהירים, עד שיגיע החורף:)

An All Israeli Manicure (with a little Norwegian influence)

This design was inspired by one of my favorite nail bloggers - Sophie from My Awesome Beauty. She does some amazing things with striping tape, and I've created this design according to her cool tutorial :)

I've only used Local nail polish brands to create this look (base&topcoat excluded) 

First, I applied one thick coat of Ga-De Tender Grey and waited about 5 minuets until it was dry to the touch.

then, I added the first triangle using Life # 237 (opaque white cream) and striping tape.

after that I added a fast drying top coat, and about 3 minuets later I was ready to apply the second triangle, using Ga-De Military Style. this polish dries very quickly and only needs one coat for full opacity, so I didn't need to wait much longer before adding the final black triangle, using Chic Black Fog.

When I was all finished, it still felt like something was missing, probably because I went with a 'dull' color combo that sort of reminded me of a sad penguin :)

That's why I decided to add a colorful glitter topper, and of coarse I went with my new Glitter Bunny polish - I Got a Goodie Bag!

I've already shown you this polish in my previous post, but now I have it on all of my fingers and I'm absolutely loving it!

את הרעיון לעיצוב הזה קיבלתי מסופי, צלמת נורווגית מוכשרת ואחת הבלוגריות האהובות עליי. היא עושה דברים מדהימים ופשוטים, והעיצוב הזה נעשה בעקבות המדריך המצולם שלה.

כל הלקים שהשתמשתי בהם הפעם הם ממותגים ישראליים (לא כולל שכבת הבסיס והטופ).

התחלתי עם שכבה עבה של ג'ייד Tender Grey, חיכית בערך 5 דקות לייבוש ואז יצרתי את המשולש הראשון, עם לק לבן של לייף וסלוטייפ דק. 

מרחתי מייבש וחיכיתי כמה דקות, ולאחר מכן הוספתי את המשולש השני, עם ג'ייד Military Style. הלק הזה של ג'ייד מתייבש ממש מהר אם מורחים רק שכבה אחת שלו, אז לא הייתי צריכה לשים מייבש הפעם

חיכיתי דקות בודדות והוספתי את המשולש השחור, עם Chic Black Fog.

אחרי שסיימתי העיצוב נראה לי קצת לוקה בחסר... כנראה בגלל שבחרתי צבעים יחסים משעממים שהזכירו לי קצת פינגווין עצוב :)

כדי לשמח את הפינגווין העצוב שלי, הוספתי מעל הכל את הגליטר המדהים I Got a Goodie Bag!, שאותו הראיתי כבר בפוסט הקודם.
